Winchester
Mystery House

The American Fever Dream

The Winchester Mystery House is a mansion-turned-museum in San Jose, California, that was once the personal residence of Sarah Winchester, the widow of firearms magnate William Winchester

Over the course of 40 years, the eight room home was converted into a whopping 161 room monstrosity. Made famous by its staircases and doorways that lead to nowhere, The Winchester House is said to be haunted by the ghosts killed by the Winchester rifle.

Experience

"Every year, in the weeks leading up to September 5th (the anniversary of Sarah Winchester’s death and the day construction came to a halt on her infamous mansion) a black horse and buggy have been spotted driving through the streets of San Jose. Without signage or fan fair, only the clomping of the horse’s hooves announce her arrival. Those lucky enough to spot her have posted pictures and videos on social media, but after September 5th, Sarah sightings have been no more."
